Bit of a mixed week.

Hey everyone. It’s been a cracking week for me. I’ve been snowed under at work, which has been very hard but I’ve loved it. 🙂 And, I’m happy to say that, we’re down to the last 140 pages of our edits on TSK.

Speaking of which, because I had such a weird start to the week I treated myself and contacted, Jakob Burgos over on http://www.talentville.com

Here’s the new banner, designed to attract people to my story/script 🙂 Enjoy….Image

Logline for the TV series

For many years since their arrival on Earth, the Aonise have forged a tense peace treaty with humanity, living in the ghettos of their city as rival clans. Yet when a terrorist’s virus designed to eliminate them spreads to humans instead, Taliri, the son of the last Aonise king, is forced out of hiding to end the crisis. He must now unite his fractured people and try to prevent an all-out war.

Into week 2 :)

Okay, so I am slacking a little this week. I had a day off. I mean come on, it was past busy day yesterday. 10pm when we sat down last night. And I had a whisky, thought I’d be okay as we also ate late, but nope. Bit of a headache this morning.

So yeah a day off. Not that I seemed to do much. By the time we were up it was already late. Hubby got some outside things done, and I edited for a while before I had my Skype session with EJ, wanted two this week as Chap 10 is a pretty tough one. A huge space battle. 🙂 so fun, but tough.

Tomorrow I am heading out to the https://www.facebook.com/wellnesscentre.westlancs?ref=ts&fref=ts

I joined a gym last time only to have to stop because of a sprained ankle. So, I’m trying something different this time around. Mum and I are booked in for a trial and talk through at 10am so I will defo have lots to report from there.

I am hoping it’s a more reactive training that just going to the gym, they use toning machine and do have other treadmills and stuff at the back. So, I think I should be able to get in a good hour, hopefully not each day though, perhaps 3x a week. I guess it will have to depend. I want to make sure I don’t neglect the birds, so it will have to be worked around them, hubby and my editing. Wow, sounds like I will be pretty busy, but I have to make the change, and going back to work should help lots too.

Mum has plans for Friday so I’m really enjoying my last week off. 🙂

A real catch up

I’ve been promising myself I’d do this all week. But I’ve never had the heart of the energy to type it up. So here I am.

I’ve had a pretty rough time as of late, there are only a couple of things which have helped. My good friends, and pottering about with my writing. (bar the first couple of broken wing, weeks)

I let myself get really worried over my job, the fact that I still have no strength and the arm is sore at night, first thing. So I rang my boss up and arranged a trip down to visit them to chat. There was no way I could drive, attempted a little go again last fri, to no avail. So, mum took me.

I met the bosses wife, who was really nice. We had a good chat, and I came away (although sad not to be able to go back) understanding a lot more about how things work and why. It was a good move to go in and see them. It alleviated all my fears, and made me feel so much better for doing so.

Then I re-visited my Doc. I really hate that they don’t know me like they did at my last practice, but they can’t. In a good way, as I was forever at the surgery in Tarleton, She was okay and signed me off work for a while longer.

So, that left me with my hubby on nights and me feeling pretty lonely. Mum’s just gone on nights too, and my step dad already does work nights. It was a tough week.

But, with Nano going on, I found great comfort in being around people in chat and online. : ) yet for nanowrimo.

A couple of days, I struggled to write. The first few I managed 6-8k a day. Then I pushed over 40 and hit the finish with over 9k. 🙂 I was really happy.

This week, has a few things planned. I’m meeting (for real) a couple of the peeps from the group. Always really scary for me because I’m a social hideaway. But, it will put me back into the real world and not the virtual one I’ve been hiding in, so I am looking forward to it.

Word count as of today is 60.172 🙂 and counting. I have a feeling this one might end up more around the 100k so hopefully come end of Nov it will be finished.

Happy writing, 🙂

Experience with NHS fail

Okay so this has taken me a good while to post, because I am one handed typing. But, here it is.

After my fall yesterday we went to Southport Hospital. I’ve always had very good experiences of the place, been seen for the most part in decent time.

Well yesterday was vastly different. On walking in there were 2 people booking in, and one waiting. I saw the triage nurse who said she would put my arm in a sling and Paul booked me in while I went to the toilet.

The nurse never came back for me. We waited an hour and a half. The three people who came in before me, went in. Then three people who came in after me we went in.

One a portuguese guy with toothache and the other a polish gent with backache! I had a possible broken arm, WTH

So, I went back to the triage nurse, asking for her to put my arm in a sling. When she couldn’t because I started crying at the pain, she asked me what my name was again, and then went running in to the doctor.

Another half an hour later and the doctor called me in, I had been MISSED off the system. Nice huh?

So the Doc assesses my arm, says he’ll ask for two x-rays, because most injuries are of the wrist not the elbow, but my pain was more in the elbow, and off we went to radiology.

10 mins later and no one about. Then a wonderful porter comes by with a patient and books us right in.

My turn for Xray…. easy peasy right?

Nope. The doctor has missed putting on my form that the radiologist had to x ray my elbow too, so off he went to go find the doc.

When I finally get my X-rays, he calls in someone while in the chair, I can hear them talking about the fracture. ‘great’

He comes over with a form to take back to A n E and tells me it was a good job I insisted on the elbow X ray as it was a definite fracture.

Back to the doc, who apologises again. By this time, I am so fed up and feel so sick, I just want to go home. They won’t plaster till the fracture clinic see it, and discuss it with me. And the next appointment is on Thurs, if I can’t get there then a week on Monday. Thank goodness hubby is off and I am able to go.

So, Southport, you really let me down. I was there, 3.30 hours. BIG FAIL

Today, pain killers aren’t cutting it. I’m constantly thirsty and this has taken far too long with one hand.

I am not a happy person 😦

Catch up.

It’s been a tough month over here. Things were working out great and then as usual, seems summer and the warmer weather strikes and then all kinds of things started to go pear shaped.

First we had a wonderful house guest. Sparky a Congo African Grey. We took her on because my husband really had wanted Bobby to be his best mate, but it didn’t happen. Bobby choose me.

The great charity we got involved with through posting a picture of Bobby on facebook was passed onto us by a mutual friend. And we first met Sparky locally and she fell in love with Paul and vice versa.

Her favourite place in the house….

So after a very long wait and a home visit as I stated we brought her home. She was great with us for the first week and then as she settled she started biting. I’m not talking about little bites either.

Paul could do anything with her and I also did at first, but then she started to refuse to go back into her cage from your hand. And we had to resort to a stick/perch. This was okay till the day she decided on me to run up the stick to attack me.

Bobby was also very jealous, we couldn’t have him out with her in the room as he’d go to close to her.

She also decided that even though she was a man’s bird, she wanted me out of our house. She wouldn’t do anything with Paul when I was there. All she wanted to do was sit on me, and be with me. Also not fair to Bobby because he also choose me.

It was a very difficult decision and although she was only with us three weeks. She had a space in my heart despite the biting. He whistles and calls are still missed now. But she wasn’t for us. She went back to the charity and we have been told she’s now in a different location and doing very well.

At the end of the day we were thinking of her happiness and hope that she will find her forever home.

Bobby on the other hand is doing really well, growing in character every day.

——————–

The other things that have not helped are all the ‘vehicle’ problems we’ve been having. One thing after another and they started to get really expensive when we were only just getting things back on track. So we’re back to square one financially. With nothing left.

Luckily though to some extent the summer holidays are here and Paul has lots of time there to work extra hours. Anything he does will be saved then for our trip down south in August to the Koi show.

One of the strangest things that has happened in the last month is meeting and helping out a great gentleman with his Koi.

My husband is a cheeky person, so after seeing a filter system up a driveway stopped to ask if it was for sale. The lady said it wasn’t but that her husband was putting it on his pond. Paul tried to sell her some fish too, that’s when she mentioned about all the problems they were having with their fish. They were dying.

Being as helpful as he was he offered my services. And when the husband rang up a few days later we went around to his house to help out.

In the house and after meeting the son, the owner walked in. Weird as it was, he happened to be a customer of mine already with company I work for, (delivering food to their workplace)

So, it’s been a roller coaster helping him out with his sick fish and in moving things around and doing things at home too.

We had some big issues with our own pond with pumps failing and pipework popping off. Eek… but we’re getting back on track there too. Thankfully.

As for my writing I had to put it on hold for a good few weeks, I’ve not had the energy or the time to put the work in, and I can’t do it if I’m overloaded because it wouldn’t be doing the story justice either. I’m hoping that August will be better and that I can put things back on track.

Best Friends is heading into the next stage again, series 2 🙂 I’m looking forward to getting more work done on that. And all my sci fi projects are moving forward too. It’s great to be part of such good teams. Working with others is amazing.

Work, well it’s really also taken off. My run has been doing very well and this Monday I’m heading out in a newer and bigger van. When you swap van’s it’s like moving home as you really do get used to the vehicle you drive.

Think I’ve sort of caught you all up. I hope everyone is doing well. Missed having the time to write and so hope that I can be back at it. Catching up with the blogs I’ve missed reading too.

Speak soon.
