Jan excitement!- already!

I can’t honestly tell you guys what a whirlwind of a few weeks, or month it’s been. I’ve had so much stuff to do at home, life on the computer sorta went on hold for it. Bar Facebook and a couple of other bits and pieces, I’ve tried my best to just ‘tick’ over.

I’ve a few things which I’m so excited about. The prospects for 2016 are looking just amazing. I have all my fingers crossed we’re off to a fab start!

So, personal and life stuff. The house, is almost done. Just needs a paint! It took us a lot longer than we thought, there were several hitches along the way and of course it was more expensive. But the finished room, is fantastic. We could not be happier with our decision to do it, right then and there. 🙂

Things with my health are also fab, check in with the doctors this week and they’re proud that I’ve done exactly what I set my mind to. I’ve accomplished my goal and stuck to it for 4 mths.

I coloured my hair for Xmas, and we made the most of it! 8 of us around our table in the new room. It was great fun.

I will admit though, that I put some xmas weight on. Everyone does right? But I am still now at my original goal, so having a few to play about with is just awesome.

Boxing day and the rest of Jan for the UK has been rough. We helped some of our neighbours out Boxing morning to flooded garages and yards. It’s been the wettest on record, with so much flooding and damage. Another problem for us to sort out because the Koi pond flooded and my filter was damaged. (yey for more stuff to do) haha.

But it’s not looking like it’s letting up either. And I can only hope for those who have had homes and livestock lost that they can come out of this on the other side. 😦 pray for less rain for us all please.

That’s it for now guys and gals, a lot to catch up on as usual. I’m going to make a separate post for TSK and how we’re doing. 🙂 So catch you laters.

Hope you’ve a fab day ahead. 🙂 x

The words no Koi Keeper ever wishes to here. :(

A lot of you know I keep Koi, my pictures and videos are there for all to see. They’re a huge part of my life, I love them, just as much as I love my cat, Spooky and my Parrot, Bobby.

The latest video of course https://vimeo.com/105432969

But, you don’t know that I also help moderate over a few forums. Mostly the guys there play nice, which is always good to see. And I help where and wherever I can. Locally in my area, I’ve helped a few valued friends. And hope to continue to do so.

But there are some very worrying concerns within the hobby a virus called KHV which everyone knows and learns about. It was with great sadness that I’ve followed one of our forum members tragic experience this last week in their collection getting sick, to the Final Diagnosis and euthanasia of their whole pond. 😦

I won’t take any of their post to put here, but wanted to link to the forum because of all the love and support Bryan and Rosemary have had there.

The posts speak for themselves, and I am very proud of our community and the site for what it is. As far as a hobby goes, you will never, ever have friends like you do here.

Completely different to the bird community. There is no where near as much nonsense. I am a proud and happy Koi Keeper, and I hope that Bryan and Rosemary may start again. With love and support anything is possible.

I wish them well for the future.

Wowser…

Hey everyone,

Last week is almost over. I’ve done so much and worked really hard with everything. But sadly the holiday must end and back to work it is.

We’ve been busy this morning, making sure all the house is clean, and that the birds and ponds are off to a good start. Everyone is A okay. 🙂 so looking forward to getting back into a solid work and play routine.

For everyone who loves pictures, here’s my fav of Bobby. 🙂

The last four months with breaking my elbow have been so tough. Emotionally and physically, but I am back in there, almost 90% better. I think it might still take a while for my arm to be totally up to what it used to, as my dominate hand, it really just isn’t dominant anymore.

I had my first real training session at Burscough Wellness centre yesterday, met a great trainer called Dave, who ran through all the machines for me, first time ever on a treadmill… EEEK! but the other resistant and weights were good. I can really tell where my arm is lacking, so some exercises I will have to do more than others. I only managed 20 mins of cardio. But for a first attempt I don’t think that was too bad. I will continue with my walking that is 30 mins, but obviously not all on the same days, that would be too much.

Actually had a really good chat about everything with the owner of the club. We had way more in common than I knew, the lady we met on Wed, is her sister, and they used to own the static butty van on the corner by Hopwells, lol. So we kinda knew each other anyway, it was good to chat. 🙂

I do have a very busy week ahead, so everyone who normally gets lots of attention off me, might not this week. I’ve a couple of very important projects, bar my own which require my undivided attention to help get them done and dusted and off the ground. It may be a tough one, it may hurt, (painkillers in my bag already) but I will get through it.

You’ve all been amazing while Iv’e been off, and for those of you who have really been there for me thank you. Everyone else, well they know where they can go take a running jump from. The saying is you when the crapper hits the fan, you know who your friends are, really true. So, this year means not only a new change on many fronts, health wise, contact wise, and person wise. It means a big change on my front too, no longer will I let others walk all over me, I am here to fight…

Now, got two jobs left to do, take a load of pictures. And then onto some editing. I’ve homework to get done for EJ, before I head into the busiest week ever.

Catch you laters. 🙂

Sunday and stuff :)

Been a very down and busy week. Felt rough for most of it. Winter and nano blues. But, also had a few things to keep my mind occupied.

Chat room on mibbit is still really active. If anyone suffering from nano blues want’s to join in. Send me a message and I’ll show you how. It’s been inspirational there, and the people are fab. From all over.

We also had a couple of new arrivals last weekend, two Amazon parrots, who needed an urgent safe house. It’s nice to have them here and they’re settling in well. One is very friendly to me, the other isn’t, but like hubby. So it’s a good match.

Bobby got his first telling off from our old cat. He bit her, so she touched the top of his head with the back of her paw. Not so good. He’s not been near her like that again though, so job done for now.

Regarding physio and other things. I went on Monday and she knew I wasn’t right from the way I was walking, so we talked. She looked over my elbow etc and seemed to think it was ‘golfers elbow’ similar to Tennis elbow, but with the inside and not outside tendons, etc.

She told me to rest, take a step back on the exercise told her I’d not been able to do much anyway, and she’ll see me in 3 weeks. Sucks, but I knew something was going on with it. Will be seeing my doc again on monday to go over it all and see what they can suggest. No good if one thing has a knock on effect to others. nice.

Fish are all cold, settled in well for winter, blanket weed growing, so had to treat yesterday. But will be alright, just need to get them over the worst of the next few months, mild here at the moment.

Well, hope to get on with book one more so now. Edit, edit 🙂

Speak soon. x

Physio, and weekend :)

Well, I’ll start with the tough one. Physio on Thursday. Couldn’t write about it, as was in a bit of pain thur and fri. Only ‘early’ days with the break yet. So I’ve got small stretching exercises to get the joint moving. I’ve to use the sling when out, or for the extra support. But I have to try and stretch. Bit impossible at the moment. Can’t get my arm anything near straight. Really painful. And making a fist. No chance, the pressure on the forearm is tooo much.

I can wiggle all fingers, although have some burning sensation in my wrist itself, and can type for a short amount of time. (really not long though as it aches too much) So in all I’ve got some work to do.

Physio is positive for a good outcome. She thinks in time I will get full movement back. But it may be much longer than I hoped for. So, still taking it a day at a time. I’m a little impatient, mostly because I’m sat at home, and itching to get back to the things I love.

It was okay when I hurt my knee a few months back, feet up and could type and stitch till my heart’s content after a few days. But the pain killers make me fussy headed, so can’t concentrate, and I can’t use my hand. 😦 so boredom sets in really quick.

————-

The fish seem a lot better this last few days. So I’m hopeful that I’ve got rid of the flukes. Taking a scrape today, just to be sure.

Writing, well can’t say it’s easy. But, I’m trying. Plotting some of the next book, that’s the best part. Because I don’t have to type, I can use the dictation function, to get all my jumbled words together.

One of my writing buddies is doing nano this year, so hoping we can egg each other on to that finish line. Or maybe I’ll start in October and do mine a month early. Think I’ll fry the dictation device though trying to get it to type 50k 🙂 or is that cheating because I’m not actually physically typing. I don’t know. lol

This weekend, has been quiet. Everyone’s working. So, home on my tod as per usual. Hubby is off today, but going fishing. I ditched the pain killers last night, but then regretted it. Still not sleeping, can’t get comfy at all in bed. So that really sucks. Can’t sleep past 7am, which means my days are long, and hard work.

Praying for some ease this week. Lets hope for some sleep, and some good news. Hate, not earning any cash. Just as we get ahead, something knocks us back. Thank goodness the solar cash comes in this week. £600 will tide me over till I get back to work.

That’s all, caught up. Hope to speak soon.
