Life – poem

Life is not the best right now and I could do with a rest.

I believe it’s just a test right now, yet I still feel so blessed.

What hurts me, and makes me cry, also makes me fight.

No, no, not flight… I might have once turned and run.

Wether it be just a test or the best, I am not done.

Where would be the fun.

So busy, so busy…

That time when the voice from within is trying to break through.

That time when I say, no, and really mean I will always say, no.

—— poem 2016, – Dawn.

What happens –

What happens to you, when you’re so busy you don’t allow yourself to feel?

What happens to you, when your life takes  a turn for the worse?

Do you stop, and allow yourself the time to heal?

Do you allow yourself the time to turn it around?

Not always do we have the strength to go on.

Not always do we have the heart to believe we’re worth more.

Yet, somewhere there is hope.

Somewhere there is a belief.

Belief that we are what matters.

Belief that we are so much more than just thinking or feeling.

We are strong, we are better.

We are more than ED.

2 week sickness but getting better :)

It’s been a tough few weeks, falling back in with a bad cold/infection again after my book launch and party. So for the whole last 14 days I’ve pretty much just barely managed to get out of bed, go to work and come home. I’ve let everything slide and I finally made the decision last weekend to stop taking on anymore ‘projects’ because I can’t do them. It was like a wave of everything and suddenly because I got ill I felt like I was drowning in them and would never get back on top.

So, I’ve pulled the plug on a few, and that will give me some time to ‘get better’ I’ve been so exhausted… and to catch up on those things I still need to finish.

Last week in itself was a bunch of meetings and paperwork on top of being sick… but now that things on that side are looking much better, I’m also feeling much better on a personal level.

There is a light at the end of the year, and we’re almost in November too! which means NanoWrimo 🙂 I wasn’t going to do anything and I still might not, but this one character hasn’t shut up all year. So who knows. I might crank her story out or I might leave it.

My muse rules though and if she kicks my butt, I’ll be writing. (she’s trying to,) but I’m still not 100% better, so I’m just playing it by ear for the weekend… honest.

Tonight I’ve caught up on some of the pile, I might be there by the weekend. 🙂

Anyone else doing nano? If you need a friend, I’m always around either way…

Good luck to those who are in.

The words no Koi Keeper ever wishes to here. :(

A lot of you know I keep Koi, my pictures and videos are there for all to see. They’re a huge part of my life, I love them, just as much as I love my cat, Spooky and my Parrot, Bobby.

The latest video of course https://vimeo.com/105432969

But, you don’t know that I also help moderate over a few forums. Mostly the guys there play nice, which is always good to see. And I help where and wherever I can. Locally in my area, I’ve helped a few valued friends. And hope to continue to do so.

But there are some very worrying concerns within the hobby a virus called KHV which everyone knows and learns about. It was with great sadness that I’ve followed one of our forum members tragic experience this last week in their collection getting sick, to the Final Diagnosis and euthanasia of their whole pond. 😦

I won’t take any of their post to put here, but wanted to link to the forum because of all the love and support Bryan and Rosemary have had there.

The posts speak for themselves, and I am very proud of our community and the site for what it is. As far as a hobby goes, you will never, ever have friends like you do here.

Completely different to the bird community. There is no where near as much nonsense. I am a proud and happy Koi Keeper, and I hope that Bryan and Rosemary may start again. With love and support anything is possible.

I wish them well for the future.

A new year, a new start. Onwards :)

Happy new year indeed to everyone.

I’ve seen my ‘report’ come through from word press on my blog. It’s always really interesting to see how many people have viewed your site over the year.

I’ve also seen lots of people publish theres. So here are some interesting facts about mine.

  • I started this blog in January of 2012. So it’s technically 2 year old. Although it has posts now going back to 1994.  I posted for a couple of months but then stopped, only really starting up again in Oct of that year. I had 3,791 views.

  • My best ever viewing was 248 in one day, in Oct 2012 when I started back up again. I think this was due to posting all my blogs from other websites. Must have been interesting.

  • In 2013 I’ve had 6,091 almost double the views. With the most views being on Jan 1st at 113 and that was also my most successful month at 1,186 views. I am going to have to try and emulate that one this year.

  • I also have 565 comments, and viewers from 68 countries.

These are great statistics, and I wouldn’t be here without all of you, so thanks. I’m very pleased, and I hope my blog does continue to grow. Along with the wonderful friends I’ve made along the way.

2014 is going to be a wonderful year. I’m very honoured to share it with you all.
