AudioBook Review – DeathMatch – Arisen book 11

This series is by far the longest I’ve listened to, and would do again. This turned me into a zombie fan!

Review as follows –

Deathmatch: Arisen, Book 11 | [Michael Stephen Fuchs]

This has been the longest series I’ve listened to, and I’m on the edge for the next. This series is so addictive, you just can’t even compare it to TWD which I only went to watch after this amazing series. You can’t compare it.

Of course theres some things that will always make us cringe characters here are so deep, so into the ZA that life is everything, means everything and is so tough, they do crazy things.

It was awesome to get back into this, and from the beginning till the end I was heart in mouth. Just loved it. I know there’s not much more to go in the series, and I waited patiently for this one, I really can’t wait to see how this all draws to an end, to who survives to who makes it with the scars they all already have. I’m going to seriously miss this story and these characters. The best writing and narration team on the planet. Just amazing.

(I will not buy the e-book to find out, I will wait, I will) honest!!! but you guys are killing me here. I so want the next one.

🙂

AudioBook Review – Clan

If you really love Sci Fi like I do. This is a total MUST listen. I loved, loved it.

Clan | [Realm Lovejoy]

“One of the best I’ve ever listened to.”

This was a really interesting story. As a Jeff fan, I can’t help myself, so picked this up as soon as he posted on facebook.

What I really loved about this story was just that, the story. It was so intricate, so well written and of course performed that I was totally hooked in from the first five minutes. This is, in fact going to be one of my all time favourites probably for a long time. If I could give this one 10 stars I would.

The characters in here, were so deep and wonderfully developed, their backstory and lives just so heartbreaking and wonderful. I felt and went through their journey with them and was on the edge of my seat with it many, many times.

I think my only criticism was the ending and I won’t spoil it for anyone, honestly I think it could have ended much sooner. But, that’s my only real quibble. I don’t know if this is going to be something there can be another story with but I’ll be watching for more, especially from the writer, it was just brilliant. Thank you very much for this. Some of the best hours I’ve spent listening.

🙂

AudioBook Review – Betrayal

Really enjoyed this one, and am well into the next! A great book and as far as narration goes this book will make you think this is read by two very talented people, hope you pay her well Jeff 🙂

Betrayal: Girl from Above, Book 1 | [Pippa DaCosta]

“wow. enjoyed this a lot!”

I had no idea what this book would involve, I picked it up because I follow Jeff about and love his work. So wasn’t sure on this and never really read the premise, just saw there were two books and I love series.

When this started out of course Jeff does a fantastic job, but I really wasn’t expecting the story to grab my attention so much or for the characters to dig their heels in so deep.

This story will grab your attention and keep you on the edge of your seat from the off. Captain Sheppard is flawed in pain and so so good. His POV really hits home even if you want to hate him for the way he thinks, but the problem is you don’t!

This is a very well thought out novel, the characters bring it to life and Jeff of course does both Male POV and Female so much justice you’d actually think that number 1001 was a different actor. 🙂 he’s that good. lol

Don’t hesitate to pick this one up, I promise you’ll not be disappointed. And I’m already on with the next. I do hope there’s some more still after this one, and I’m defo going to check out more of this writers world, loved it.

AudioBook Review – Weapons of War

I totally had to listen to this asap.

It didn’t disappoint! Roll on book 3 🙂

Weapons of War: Rebellion, Book 2 | [M. R. Forbes]

I was waiting for this and only as I checked out Jeff’s latest had I realised it was out. Why can’t there be a follow button for a series, haha 🙂

Anyway, so yes. This was a really great continuation of the series. We pick back up with both sides of the story, on Earth and in Space.

Donovan and his team are going through some awful conditions and worse situations to get to the resistance that is left. There were some moments here where I cried, it’s so extremely well written that we get to know and love the character in book 1 and yet M.R Forbes delves even deeper with them and makes us feel even more! This book totally pulled my heart out.

Gabrielle and the old Gator… just superb characterisation. Though they go through so much as father and son, as a team on the Magellan they pull out no stops to protect and survive.

This was a totally nail-biting audiobook, the fights the action, the love and people lost along the way. A total must listen.

Only gripe would be that the ending was just as emotional as the rest of the book! and I was like OMG what the… you can’t leave it like that. You just can’t…. haha

Awesome narrator and author, I want the next one. Like now!

AudioBook Review – Heart of Gold

Nice to be back with Joe after the AI series. More fantasy than I’m used to, but this was a great listen. I did wish it were longer, but overall, very entertaining.
Heart of Gold: Clans of Shadow, Book 1 | [J. A. Cipriano, J. B. Garner]

“Loved this story.”

This was defo a little more fantasy than I’m used to, with wizards and magic, and all that jazz. But, with Joe narrating, from horror to fantasy I know it’s pretty much got to be a good listen, it didn’t disappoint.

Right from the get go Frank Butchers’ personality and snarky way of life pulls you in, he’s a young hip lad with life the way he likes it, and then everything is literally blown up around him and in trying to do the right thing he’s thrown into a world that he knows nothing about. I did think that the Doctor, was a little easy a story plot point for him, he’s pretty set in his ways, but at the mention of a kid then he goes all out for someone he doesn’t know. If there’s been a little more rapport with the Doc, I might have fallen for it a little more. But that’s my only real caveat. After all Franks first thoughts are to his mum and that does show some integrity to his family values, I just can’t attach that to the woman doctor who he only knows as a client for delivery parcels.

This story is pretty action packed, and what I do like about it is that although Frank does come off as a bit of a young jerk, we get to know all his reasons, his why’s and we then also get to see his character arc develop into that much more. The guy we kinda like turns into someone who we are routeing for and want to win. No matter the odd he’s facing.

Some great story telling, couple it with Joe’s fantastic narration and acting, and this one’s a winner. I’m very interested in seeing where else this series goes. 🙂
