Jan excitement!- already!

I can’t honestly tell you guys what a whirlwind of a few weeks, or month it’s been. I’ve had so much stuff to do at home, life on the computer sorta went on hold for it. Bar Facebook and a couple of other bits and pieces, I’ve tried my best to just ‘tick’ over.

I’ve a few things which I’m so excited about. The prospects for 2016 are looking just amazing. I have all my fingers crossed we’re off to a fab start!

So, personal and life stuff. The house, is almost done. Just needs a paint! It took us a lot longer than we thought, there were several hitches along the way and of course it was more expensive. But the finished room, is fantastic. We could not be happier with our decision to do it, right then and there. 🙂

Things with my health are also fab, check in with the doctors this week and they’re proud that I’ve done exactly what I set my mind to. I’ve accomplished my goal and stuck to it for 4 mths.

I coloured my hair for Xmas, and we made the most of it! 8 of us around our table in the new room. It was great fun.

I will admit though, that I put some xmas weight on. Everyone does right? But I am still now at my original goal, so having a few to play about with is just awesome.

Boxing day and the rest of Jan for the UK has been rough. We helped some of our neighbours out Boxing morning to flooded garages and yards. It’s been the wettest on record, with so much flooding and damage. Another problem for us to sort out because the Koi pond flooded and my filter was damaged. (yey for more stuff to do) haha.

But it’s not looking like it’s letting up either. And I can only hope for those who have had homes and livestock lost that they can come out of this on the other side. 😦 pray for less rain for us all please.

That’s it for now guys and gals, a lot to catch up on as usual. I’m going to make a separate post for TSK and how we’re doing. 🙂 So catch you laters.

Hope you’ve a fab day ahead. 🙂 x

Remembering Spooky….

I can’t say that it’s because I’ve been totally awestruck in everything TSK that I’ve not posted. Last weekend I had to put my 19 year old cat Spooky to sleep. It was one of the worst moments of my life, and has left me feeling really devastated. It’s already been a week, and this sadness is lingering.

It’s so hard, I know I’ll still always have Bobby and he’s so good at keeping me company at the moment. 🙂 I can’t be without a little friend. But I miss my furry one.

I’m going to write up another post for all TSK because so much is going on it’s been the only thing keeping me really from spiralling downwards.

I do want to feel happy again… it will take some time, she was a big part of our lives.

Cora – Day 9

Sorry I missed a few after the working shift. I had so much to catch up on.

A few mishaps –

Couldn’t get Cora back into her cage one day.

Went to make dinner and left the gas on.

Then left the Wok in the oven yesterday and nearly melted it!

I’ve struggled like crazy to keep these two love bugs separate, got a new cage, Paul was fixing it and they got in the hallway together, they’re like ninja’s I swear. So they actually got a face to face meet. Scary stuff.

But now, things have settled much better again, so I’m sure there is going to be lots of fun. I’m nervous for them getting too close, but now she’s here, she’s staying 🙂

The two of them are tucked up now, beak grinding, that has to be the best sound EVER!

Cora – Day 5

Well the little madam is settling in well. Lol, she lunged at me this morning. Proper growled and lunged. This might get interesting today, with the training I have planned for her. EEEP. However, I didn’t back off. Stood my ground with her and let her see I wasn’t a threat even though for some bizarre reason today she thought I was.

So, training began and now I’ve had the door open for twenty minutes. She’s been out, sat on top of the cage, beak grinding I might add… and has now gone back in for some more breakfast.

She’s going to have some freedom today. I know her favourite treat to get her back in. Black Grapes, although there isn’t much in the nutritional sense, it’s what she adores, and goes for first. Even over the nuts….

Leaving her to settle in the dining room, and hoping that when I go back in the living room Bobby won’t escape, or today might just get even worse, and I don’t want that. He has to steer clear, they’re supposed to be in QT…  love bugs. x out

Cora – Day 3

I didn’t get chance to write about her yesterday so there are two today.

I was concerned for her behaviour and so asked a few friends. Video is here.

Cora was pacing a lot when first uncovered and throughout the day. Advice was to cover a portion of her cage and move her food bowl close to where she could sit comfortably.

This seemed to make a difference yesterday…
