Week 3 of broken Elbow

I can say the pain is a tad bit easier. Although it’s pretty sore first thing in the morning and worst at night.

Lying awake staring at the ceiling listening to traffic go past isn’t much fun.

But I am getting more movement in my wrist. Not too sure if there was initial damage there. Something I’ll have to ask the fracture clinic, as I’ve noticed more and more pain in my lower wrist where it struck the floor. Turning my arm upwards is pretty much still impossible. I get this cracking pop and it hurts, so I’m only doing so many in the day.

For me, personal things are the worst. Still can’t put on underware. I’m in hubby’s T-shirts as they’re easier to get on, and bathing… sheesh not a chance. Can get in the bath, but not out. I’m like a decrepid old woman. And I feel it too.

I don’t mind showers, but when you’re feeling crappy it’s nice to have a bath. Not at present.

I’m finding it difficult in the ‘hobby’ side of things too. Not being able to write/edit as much as I’d like has to be a writers worst nightmare. Normally if I can’t write, I do something else creative. But my ‘other’ hobbies are out the window too.

Normally I can cross stitch for hours, and have been putting some things for a charity I support.

Here are a couple of pictures of my stitching for them. In the hopes it will help raise funds to keep unwanted/abused birds in the veterinary treatment they need.

Unfinished but hope it will make a nice pin cushion 🙂 When I can stitch again.

Just frustrating when you can’t do anything !!

Uggghhh, here’s my lil Bobby though, he’s been great company while I’ve been home. Getting cheekier by the day though. At present I’m trying to get him used to being touched. Sometimes I get to feel his tail and place my finger on his back, but he’s not keen and flies away. I am starting to be able to get near his beak without him biting. Although this morning proved he still has the upper hand when instead of going for the treat, he bit my finger instead, sometimes cranky when he first wakes up.

His ‘Black Ring’ is showing really well now. He’s a beautiful boy, and he defo knows it too. 🙂

This has taken me all morning to put together, so I’d better wrap it up.

I’ve been plotting for Nanowrimo. Although not too sure I’ll take part this year. I’ve still TSK – The Beginning to finish, without starting the next, lol

Catch you soon. Hope you have a wonderful week.

First go at dictation :)

Never tried dictation before so let’s see if this works out okay. Been a crap day went to the doctors for pain relief and anti-sickness medication. The doctor was very nice, felt sorry for me and laughed because it happened Friday the 13th. I have been signed off work for a while eek, this is quite difficult for me because wages and money will be very tight. But as usual in life we take it our stride and continue onwards.

We agreed it was not the pain medication which was making me feel safe, it is in fact the pain. And so keep going as I’m doing take pills every four hours with the anti-sickness and hopefully feel better. It seems to have made a difference this afternoon.

Paul has gone to work now, won’t be home till gone midnight, and so I am home alone with Bobby and the cat. Of which I don’t mind their company is nice. A movie and some pottering about. Facebook is quite addictive when you’re at home all day.

Here is Bobby keeping me company, isn’t he just adorable 🙂 I love him to bits.

Where is the week going already?

I sort of think the week is dragging a little, but then I think well two days ago was Sunday and I was writing all day.

Wow, sometimes it does go so fast.

Monday was much easier in work than today has been. When the van’s day is slow, I’ve got more time to think about the food that’s on it. And it’s so easy to forget and just pick something up to eat. Hard to resist.

However, I did try some of one of our new dishes. Half a Beef and Blackbean wrap. Very nice indeed… I had to include it on my snack list and not indulge on anything else.

Writing wise, things went very well over the weekend. I’ve got more to do, but it’s getting better. Having a computer that ‘works’ is just amazing. No crashing, nothing. Perfect.

Onwards to the weekend. We’ve got a week off, and we’re away to Swanley to a big Koi show.

Kinda scared to leave my mum in charge of Bobby, as she doesn’t really like birds. But I’m sure she will be fine… eeek… I’ll still fret, he’s my baby.

🙂

Sat, catch up.

Been a hectic week as per usual. But I’ve started to get back into things.

I should have been off work starting yesterday, but circumstances changed and it was better for me and for them if I moved it till the end of the month, so I have. I’ve managed this week to re-read and catch up with lots of things though. And TSK being one of them.

However, my editing session on Thurs didn’t quite go as I’d planned. The reception on my phone was spotty, I couldn’t get my blue-tooth to work with Skype (Which it always has) and after 45 mins of not quite hearing things and trying to make do we called it a day early so that I could calm down… lol…

So, I’m in the market today for a new computer… one which Skype will run on and work perfectly. One which will make my writing so much easier. So shopping today with good ole mum 🙂

I’ve got loads of pictures of Bobby, he’s been a great little mate to have this week as hubby has gone full time at work.

Happy to say things are getting better. 🙂 So here’s to a nice new day and a happy Sat and Sunday.

Looking forward to the end of the month. The All England Koi Show. And spending time with hubby. 🙂

Catch you all soon.

So busy….

Sun brings me lots of ‘outside’ things to do.

The garden grows, the fish need more attention. EEK. I don’t know where the weeks are going.

Editing on TSK is going really well. I can only hope that I will get it passed through this year. But, if I don’t then I will not stress over it. I’ve had a great time with the people I’ve met through writing this part of the saga. 🙂

Hope you are all really well. Thinking of you and do hope I can post more soon…
