LATER……

Ok,

I might try and give them a little bit of food. But not too much, I want to dose tomorrow hopefully for the last time with pp. I am hoping with all the cleaning etc that it will stay active for at least the 8 hours. If not I will settle for at least four. I am going to stick to the recommended dose, although I have been advised to put it in all in one go over the surface of the pond, so we will see.
I only have K1 in the filter, but there was a bag of oyster shells in there that smelt terrible when I pulled it out hence why i looked to the bottom, and realised it needed doing. So its now on my cleaning rota, I will have to do it more often. At least the hoover helped a lot.

Just checking on them before I have a kip, I am exhausted with all the worry etc, and I am working late tonight.

Catch you later hun, and thanks again.

Dawn

Update, all fish except for the sick one ate, sturgeon very hungry although I can’t put too much in. Let you know how it fairs tomorrow.

Ok,

so this morning, I think I spent emptying my nexus, and cleaning the bottom. It took me ages to get all the k1 out first then at least I could see where I was hoovering. I think a reason why my pond was so bad is because there was loads of gunk in the outer chamber. I am sure this shouldn’t happen? Anyway, I will put this into my cleaning routine, and perhaps every few months completley drain it off and hoover the bottom.

My sickest fish is a lot happier she is swimming around a lot and when all the fish came over begging for food, she came to. Fingers crossed that things are getting better.

I have still seen two of my fish flicking so I do still think that tric is there. I def don’t think the pp was active for long enough and I am hoping that if I do redose tomorrow that this will be the last time. I really could do with another scrape doing but everyone is so busy. So I am watching the koi before I go to work and I am going to see how it fairs in the morning. They have had over a %75 percent water change in the last four days, so I guess we shall just see.

I’m not around any corner yet, but here is hoping.

Oh and ps, how long can koi go without food? I haven’t fed them in 3 days. And my sturgeon are pretty annoyed, I don’t kow how long they can do without, but I do know they suffer from malnutrition before the koi. Any one any ideas?

I am working later, but will keep you all updated.

Even with two airstones, the waterfall and an extra pipe. I just think Moby isn’t happy.

I bought a pond vac today, an oase pondovac. It is good fills the chamber up and then empties, although I will need a longer pipe so not to flood around the pond and into the garden instead. I spent about two hours cleaning it today, getting rid of a lot of black crap off the bottom.

I will do the same again tomorrow and then retreat probably on sunday with formaldehyde. I don’t think the pp has touched the tric at all. Have since seen four fish flick and Moby did too this morning. She has a lot of fight in her still she has been swimming around a lot lot more today, which could be because I have been cleaning or she feels a tad better. I am hoping she feels a tad better. Once treated with the formaldehyde I will get a scrape done to make sure the blighter has gone, and then I can start to rebuild the pond eco system back up.

I haven’t salted because if I do it would take me too long to get out before I could use another chemical.

Will keep you all up to date. I am exhausted, sore and emotionally beat.

Later….

Hey all,

The pond has had a good clean and the filter has been purged twice. Will nip out and get some salt. Had an accident this morning and came off the motorbike, wasn’t on the road, we have a ramp and I skipped off it. Banged my head and shoulder, so can’t get out today. Everything comes in threes as they say. Well I have had my lot now. No more please….

Speak later. and thanks again.

LATER

Ok, quick update.
I have done a partial water change, and watched my fish really carefully. I am really unsure of everything but I have tried my best. At present Moby is alive, but she doesn’t look so good, still skulking and now she is sitting by the waterfall.

With a bit of luck I can start to treat with some salt tomorrow.

I will let you know how it fairs in the morning.

Ok,

so after watching the fish this morning, and cleaning the filter, which was black I might add.

My sick fish still doesn’t look so good, and I have seen a few fish flicking. I am going to seek some advice from our local guy because I don’t want to dose the pond again unless I really have to. But if the trich could still be there then I will do. I am also wondering if a salt bath might help the sick one ? Any thoughts….
