Busy,  busy, busy.

So Sat was so busy, didn’t sleep so well got up early because Paul went off to work. Was freezing so stayed in bed while the heating got warm. It was still cold. I heard the guinea pig screaming so got up to face a blood bath. Had to go out and get him some more pain meds, that set me back half an hour. I needed to leave the house by 9:40 at the latest it was 9:20 when I got home to help him out.

Poor thing, he didn’t like me putting anything on him. I don’t blame him at all, it must hurt.

Then I went off to finish my theory lessons with Southport BSAC. This was a very interesting day. I am still  not 100% better and I was cold all day no matter how much coffee I drank or the food I ate. The lessons were good. We learned all about planning dives and what happened when things go wrong. It was really good to learn all these things and see how and what to do.

However I had a terrible headache by the time I left. I needed to get home, I was freezing, I haven’t done much house work all week because I’ve been un-well and I hate a untidy house. It is awful… Mum had lit the fire for me but I needed the heating on for a while before I warmed up.

Paul was involved in an accident at work. I get a text message about it and I hate that. A woman indicated to pull over at Wymott Prison, lost. Paul decided to go around her, when he was half way past her she indicates and turned right in-front of him.  Made a right mess of his bus and her 4×4.  He has a sore shoulder and ribs from the shock. Bus drivers don’t wear seatbelts, and I have no idea why.  Just awkward for him and everything else which is going on. I know this isn’t going to end well.

The woman tried to blame him, because he was on the other side of the road overtaking. Luckily Paul has a witness who saw it all. Madness… I hate accidents and the stress it causes.

Anyway, still had a headache, so I got home after 4pm and I took some tablets along with my antibiotics and then hit the pillows for an hour, I was due to go out to a Charity Ladies night, to help raise funds for Southport life boat services. I must admit I wasn’t looking forward to it, but after a sleep and a shower I was quite refreshed and we left the house before 7pm.

It was a good night, what more can I say, ladies, booze, naked men. All in all just loads of fun, and the food was fab too. 🙂

Today all we’ve done is dismantle the ladies pond whose fish we rescued the other night. It was cold, I am tired and I am still sick I need rest.

Will speak soon…. 🙂

FRIDAY the 13th….

Always a bummer! always something goes wrong. Came home from a sort of good day at work to find the baby pond temp had dropped 10 degrees, heater had blown.

Pulled the polly tunnel off fixed it, but it kept tripping out. Awful, awful awful day. Couldn’t get it right. In the end it seemed that it was the mains plug it was fixed into was the problem. So we sorted it out.

Couldn’t bump the heat back up though not to 18 degrees so had to settle for 12, that would be okay for them gradually over the next couple of days, 😦 nightmare.

If it isn’t the guinea pig, it is the fish…. or I am not well…. yeah still not 100% but a little better.

I am getting drunk tonight and going to eat a lovely manchester tart from work 🙂

Enjoy your evening all, will update you better tomorrow.

YIKES!!

Today’s events…

So feeling a little better, once more. Thankfully, everything seems to be settling down. It has been a rough few days though, awful in fact. Fingers crossed that I don’t get any more 🙂

I got a text today about rescuing some fish for a while. The lady who owns them lost her husband and was finding it very difficult to look after them. We first helped her out in the summer and found a good home for four of her larger fish, but the smaller ones we couldn’t sell or re-home. So we hoped that she would be able to manage them, not being as many over the winter. Sadly not, it was worrying her silly, so we brought them home today… sort of against my better judgment. As with having baby koi, we’ve no QT to isolate them and treat them, we just had to wiz them straight into the big pond.

Of course, all my fish are happy to see new friends. And went right into pushing them around the pond. I think it will take them a while to settle in, but they’ll be fine. At least if we get bad weather the water is heater here, they’ll not have a rough winter.

I’ll just have to be careful. They are five rather large fish, which might just push my filter (which is in winter low mode) over the edge, but I am a careful person, so everything should be good.

Been a very busy evening,  just settling down now.  Don’t know how much I’ll do tonight but I am going to try some plotting 🙂

Have a fab evening all, speak soon.

Hello 🙂

Finally getting there. It is Thursday, that means one good thing it is Friday tomorrow…. YEY!

I have to be excited about that. It seems like it really has been a long week, although it has been a short one.

I am doing my (re) training on my theory for Diving on Saturday. At someone’s house who I probably won’t be able to find. Yikes.

It has been an ongoing issue with the dive club about the lack of comittment this last year from anyone available to teach me. I started out great. Did theory lessons 1-3 completed all 5 pool sessions and was waiting for someone to finish theory 4-5 but nothing ever happened. It got too late in the year to be organising any trips out in ‘real’ water because it would be far too cold for me.  And that was that. I paid my membership and  was forgotten about. Sucks, and I’ve had it all out with them, so hoping this time things will be different.

Of course I’ll let you know.

Work was better today, windy as heck like, got blown all over the place, but it was okay.  In my job the target is to read £300 in sales at least per day. It has been a tough couple of days but I made up for some of it today, which was good.

My mum, who now works with me,  has the other side of Southport. She’s not doing so good and has been asked to start to try and get more customers. Doing this isn’t easy when you are driving, and trying to serve and fit in the ones you do have. It took me more than 10 months to get the confidence and quickness to work out and do a little of everything.

I know they told her the job might only be temporary, (maternity leave cover) but I am hoping they realise that they can’t cover the holidays people want and take time off themselves… They really do know how to run a tight budget that way.

I have my fire lit, the fish have been all checked on.

Babies are doing fab…. If you want to take a look… I have a youtube account.

This is the latest video… check it out and please tell me what you think.  It is hard to see the better ones. When the weather warms up I want to get them in a blue bowl for inspection and I’ll video them there again. One  of my favourites (yin and yang) has just that, his first half is white, and the back half is black. You can see him in the vid, (27 seconds ish) although hard to spot. What you can’t see is any of the Kohaku’s which are coming through. There is a nice 3 step one, but till I get it out, I don’t know if it will be any good. In fact don’t know if any of them are any good. But they’re growing, happy and healthy…  that is all I am interested in. They do come from good stock, they were just an odd breed to put together.  Oh,well.

Big fish,  not so sure about. I can only hope that the White spot has gone… no one is sulking any more and they’re all back looking around for food. Now started to put a little in, (because I have an albino sturgeon) and I’ve loaded it with Sansai a good bacteria, like Actimel for fish 🙂

Guinea pigs are settled in lot more. The smaller one is doing better, gave him some more pain relief today. And I must admit he really like it,  hooked I think!

So I am now off for a bath and something to eat, before the other half gets in. Then I can carry on with TSK as I didn’t get as much done as I’d liked yesterday.

Speak soon….
