LATER

Ok,  my little Chag is doing much better all his redness has gone, and all the rubs look fine. I bathed him again, and I am sure in a week they will just be rub marks.

The other brown chag, did have a white zit thing although when we caught him it actually came off in the net, looked more like cotton wool than anything else, so I am def thinking carp pox, will get a pic up here as soon as, but dont think it took very well.

I have been out there all morning and not one fish has flicked, or anything so will keep an eye on it, I think my little chag sores were just from the previous few weeks where he was flicking badly, but I think everything is on the up now.

I am off all week so I have time to watch them every day and see if things are improving, or I will get a scrape done as soon as.

Thanks once again.

Speak soon.

Thanks for the information guys,

The pond heater is supposed to be a 4kw, but it obviously couldn’t cope with temperatures of minus 4 the temperature of the pond stayed at 8 degrees,

My peramaters this morning are amonia nil, and nitrite I would say .5 as has a slight pink tinge but not much. Ph is 8 and steady.

The temperature is 12 degrees. I know there are a lot of sites on the internet, but the varying temperature they all say to heat to varies from 10 degrees to 16 so I choose 12 as a middle ground.

I will be shortly catching my little chag again today, just to have him checked out, like a lot of people say water masks problems and you need to look properly.

I am also concerned about white spot as one of my other chags has a white lump on his tail going to try and catch him too so I can get a picture for you guys.

Has anyone got any really good pics of what white spot looks like. but its not small, it is more like a big zit. or a wart, was wondering carp pox maybe

I am going to have to get another scrape done before I treat for anything else properly, I will also be getting my own microscope ordered from him. Like his hopefully as its well up to par.

Thanks for all your help, and as we all know this year is a learning curve and as long as I keep on top of the problems, i am sure this year will be different.
Anyways I will be back later with some unprofesional pictures,

thanks again.

Rubs and raised scales. 😦

Ok,

So this week I haven’t checked on my fish as much as I should have, and low and behold I think I still have a problem with Trichodina….

I have watched my white ghost koi flash a few times agitated, but that wasn’t the worst of it.

Due to bouncing off the bottom drain, I think one of my small chagois has rubbed himself silly.

I caught him today, because one side of his head had gone grey, and he is supposed to be brown. His scales are’nt raised that much but there was signs of some infection where he had rubbed.

So while he was in the big blue bowl, I carefully mixed some antibacteria stuff together for him and let him bathe in a high dose of that for ten minutes, then I applied a green creme, (cant remember the names of them now Im inside where it is warm)

So my next step is to bed and borrow a sump pump so I can bypass my filter and Pp the pond once more. Unfortunatly I am in work now for 4 days, so my poor fish will have to get on with it till friday. I daren’t pp the pond when I am not there to watch them, and I can’t get any time off seeing as I am on holiday from friday for 8 days.

I will add the pic I took of him in a minute when I get used to this site.

Yikes, I need to get my kh up, fish flicking this morning and tonight with the ph change, they really don’t like it. It was never this bad before I pp’d the pond. The change in the kh of the water has def got a lot to do with this, and the major water changes I have been doing.

When we get paid on thurs I will pop down to my dealer and get some kh buffer. Although I could do with a big bag off the internet. Maybe I can persuade my mum to let me order it and get them to ship it out. I will speak to her later.

All fish seem ok other than the ph change, chagoi is healing up. I am keeping a good close eye on him. Just don’t like my fish bouncing off the bottom of the pond, its not a nice sight. :( Also don’t want any more rub injuries. (If money was no object it would be ace) but the problems I have had recently have just wiped me out. Spent at least £500 over the last three weeks I am gutted.)

Good job hubby has an injury claim about to pay off to replenish all out funds. I can relax again then.

Speak soon.
