A day out to meet Andrew Dodd

It’s been a very very tough week, and although everything for TSK is going so well. I’m in the middle of a blog tour, and a great explosion event on facebook! that losing my cat and work life has been bearable.

But I had the opportunity and the get up and go in me to drive my mum and myself 2 hours to Yorkshire to meet our Sequential artist Andrew.

I am not a confident driver at all. I am not a confident person at all. But, I do know these things and being ‘out there’ with the readers is important so I had better start to get used to being asked questions.

Driving out there was awesome. it felt like I was doing something, not sitting at home being the computer writer. I was really going on a mini adventure.

We did get a little lost at a few roundabouts, you know sat nav’s aren’t that great at telling you where to go, esecially as you’ve passed it. lol

But we got there, we met Andrew and his lovely sister Carol and had a fab afternoon. I got to see how art starts and forms the fantastic inked work we are ready to launch as part of TSK’s website. And I’m in awe such a talented man like seriously talented.

Of course we eventually had to leave, and I’d forgotten half of what I wanted to talk about, but it was good. Mum and I were so hungry we stopped at a calvery on the way out and ate and then headed home. Turning it into a real day out. ๐Ÿ™‚

Here are the pics we took… and although really am camera shy I don’t think they turned out to bad ๐Ÿ™‚

The Next Big Thing Blog Hop

THE NEXT BIG THING BLOG HOP: Dawn Chapman

I’ve never tried this, but here goes. I got this from SOLOMON J. INKWELL which I found by search results.

http://solomoninkwell.wordpress.com/

I liked the idea so here we go… It is a blog hop, so I’ll check out the person who tagged them and see who else I can make friends with too ๐Ÿ™‚ I’ve only had small stories published so this year will be a first for me with a novel…

The rules are fairly simple:

Give credit to the person who tagged you.

Post the rules for this hop.

Answer the following ten questions about your current WIP (Work In Progress) on your blog.

Tag one or more other writer/blogger and add his or her link so we can hop on over.

So, are you excited? Yep, me too. So, letโ€™s get started…

What is the working title of your next book?

The Secret King – The Beginning

Where did the idea for the book come from?

I’ve been working on a TV series with a very good writer friend of mine. Steven Kogan over at

http://cinemasnackbar.wordpress.com/2012/12/07/dr-who-season-1-2005-or-when-does-the-fun-start/

titled The Secret King and I wanted to take part in Nanowrimo so it just sort of happened.

What genre does your book fall under?

Sci Fi / Fantasy

Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a move rendition?

Kendro – Gerad Butler

Mika – Helen Hunt

Captain Hadi – Tim Rozon

Doctor Brie – Dana Delany (she looks like a friend of mine)

Octav – Luke Macfarlane

Chace – Justin Hartley

Wow, that was so much harder than I imagined, but such fun. Bonus.

What is the one sentence synopsis for your book?

With their sun dying, Kendro, King of The Aonise fights to save his people from total annihilation.

Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?

I am unsure yet. I will test the waters with traditional publishing first, then see alternatives.

How long did it take you to write the first draft of the manuscript?

Forty Seven days.

What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?

I’d like to not compare it to other authors, hoping it will stand on its own.

Who or what inspired you to write this book?

The love for the world I’d already worked so hard on, and as a TV series script got its first recommend in early 2011. ๐Ÿ™‚

What else about your book might pique the readerโ€™s interest?

It will appeal to anyone who loves… fantastic space battles and epic discoveries.

๐Ÿ™‚ Enjoy and if you see this pass it on and message me… not sure if it works like that but hey ho…

65k :) wooo hooo

Yeah, every little milestone counts…

Word count from 63,118 – 65, 008

Todayโ€™s count 1890

It has been a breeze today, some more heartache in the mix and some real raw emotions.

My two guys really struggled with their feelings, fought tooth and nail not to be together and then bam…ย  amazing when it happens like that…

Writing is such, such fun. I am having a blast and I do really love it. ๐Ÿ™‚ย  So, for my guys I am proud to say that for now it is working out okay.

That is all I am going to spill though.

Onwards the ending is in site, edging closer and closer.ย  I will say it is going to be a tearjerker though,ย  and that does make me sad. The happiness now isn’t going to last forever.

On other notes, been really cold here today, poor fish, my main pond is down to 6d now. And I’ve even started to lower the baby tank so they can have a winter as well. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

I am so looking forward till the 21st of Dec, a break, hibernate city for me for a week I think. Some reading, more writing and time with family. I can’t wait.

For all my new visitors and likes, if you comment I’ll come and comment back, interaction is good. Don’t be shy. lol..
