A quick one…

Hi there,

Only a quick update today. Been a long one as I didn’t sleep much last night.

The weekend was good, caught up on some outside jobs with the ponds. I haven’t touched anything in a week, so I had to get out there and see how everyone was really doing. Nice and sunny so it was amazing to be outside for a change.

Sunday as a little bit of a washout.

But —

— we’re getting a new friend… a Blue Indian Parrot. A friend of ours bought him last year and has since gotten an African Grey, so can’t keep both. I’ve never had a bird before with keeping a cat. It’s a friendly, young bird. So we should be able to get it to talk quite soon. It needs a mirror and lots of time. 🙂 I can do that, it can sit with me watching me type. lol

Writing.

I’ve had a good few crits through on ‘scribophile’ along with my coaching, so I’ve let my head settle on where I want to move and change things. I finally felt like I was ready to tackle a re-write. It might take me a while. But I am more confident now about it 🙂

Work.

I went back to work today. A bit tough, it was harder to drive than I first thought. With some pain killers in the morning though I made it just the four hours before I needed more. Eeek. At least my customers were all happy to have me back. 🙂 I was happy over that.

So, long day, heading to bed. Hope you are all great.

Sat….

General 🙂

Today I have to wait in for the sky man. Our dish broke so it needs fixing properly. 🙂 So having done all my running about yesterday I have the full day to edit, read, and relax. We’re also going out later to my dads. Which will be nice.

I’ve not posted too much this week because I’ve felt personally drained. And it’s just been one of those really bad weeks which I’d sooner forget about.

There is no chance of me getting the 12th off work for my Uncles funeral. So I also have to deal with that. One of the biggest problems in working for a small firm is there is no cover. Shame, really. Just fingers crossed I can turn this crappy blip around and get back to something normal. Sleep and food just went right out the window. 😦

A break is a nice thing though and with the other half having lots of overtime I’ve finally been able to get some of the things we’ve been lacking of over the last month. With some luck this is a good sign and it looks like he might be working full time again soon.

I don’t begrudge him anything. He’s worked so hard in all the years I’ve known him. But when a job becomes more than a job and something you are just doing because you’re forced too it really is time to move. Fate has played some pretty crappy jokes on us in the last 4 years. It’s also given us a good couple of ‘get’ out clauses too and I think that they were for the best.

Koi

Well temps have been so low recently my heater is going ten fold on the main pond to attempt to keep it warm. I don’t think this winter is doing any of our koi any favours.

We’ve also turned the heater back on the baby tank to see if the ‘cooking’ episode was indeed a one off. It seems to be working as normal now. ummmm I’m puzzled by this even more so with recent ‘things’ going on around here. But, lets leave that, at that.

I did treat the baby tank with blanket weed killer yesterday. Holmeswood have lots of new products in. Which I’ll try… 🙂 So I have no doubt that it’s dying off now. At least the babies will have free movment in few days. It’s like 6ft long in there… and I have no doubts it will block everything up again, so will have to keep an eye on it.

They had some lovely new koi in the shop… A cracking little Tancho Doitsu something… and he’s also got some big Hajiro 🙂 They’re amazing. And they look just like my nisai 🙂 hopefully mine will get much bigger soon. I want them to grow more. They’ll be going in the big pond in the next month.

Writing.

Waiting on some reviews to come in at the end of this month. Then I can think about things and move forward. Editing is going well to be fair. I’m pleased with my own progress either way. So onwards with the day.

Have a good one. And speak soon.

The story behind…

Kanundra,

I’ve been thinking a little about this because I’ve recently been asked a couple of times. Where the name came from and why I picked it.

Over my Internet years. I’ve had a few names.

savin-me
Frozenblackbandit
Mehurtin

in 2007 I decided to get rid of the ‘hurting’ names and pick something that would reflect who I was. At the time, I was attending Cheadle Royal ED unit three times a week and living with my nan for most of that time.

Sunday night, attending on a monday, home Monday. Returning Tue night to attend wednesday, home wed, returning thursday to attend friday and home for the weekend. (hubby did stay at nans with me)

But it was in being with my nan where Kanundra came from.

We used to watch Countdown together a UK tv game show.

And at the end of it there is a connundrum. Which I then turned into Kanundra.

I have since learned that it is actually a real name.

This was taken from a website a social website for logo design, it sort of sums me up nicely. How strange.

This little info about the name of the business might help some designers:

Kanundra sounds like conundrum, which means a difficult problem. The purpose of Kanundra is to fix difficult problems. Facebook had a similar concept, they provided a solution where people can socialize and communicate. Kanundra is going towards that motivation.

I guess I went from ‘hurting’ to actually ‘fixing’ my problem.

Life is full of little surprises isn’t it?

Where did your name or nic come from?

Love Sat mornings :)

Been up and about really early. The other half is always in bed till after ten.

It gives me time to be out and about, clean the ponds, look over the fish and see how they’re all doing.

The weather today is lovely and dry and sunny 🙂 bonus, so the garden really looks nice and ready for spring.

However, I do think it won’t last long. Feb and March are usually our worst months. I guess we will have to see.

So, my goals for today are after finishing off the ponds to take a walk to the village and get some exercise and then to carry on with editing the first few chapters.

I’ve had a couple of days to think things through, so I have a plan…

I also want to post a blog later with all the editing tips I’ve found that are very useful. And some of my own which cross over from script writing.

Busy day, so I should get on with it.

Hope you all have a lovely morning.

First day back at work :(

The dreaded first day back in…. ‘sigh’

Well not quite that dreaded, but after no sleep at all last night, it was tough.

So nice to see all my lovely customers though and for them to say they missed me, aww bless.

I am very tired now though… my eyes don’t want to stay open. So, no looking at the computer for too long tonight, or any writing or editing, I’ll be having an early night with a good book. 🙂

How was everyone else’s first day back?
