After a wonderful weekend spent editing. I can to open my file today and realised in horror… I’ve been editing the wrong one š¦
I have had a much earlier file open and I’ve left it open, day in, day out.
‘cries’
I can only hope that I haven’t strayed from my goal ‘the first three chapters’ and that its easily fixed. Or, I might have to just start all over again.
I am more than gutted.
Tip to all writers. Make sure you’re in the correct file….

Ouch! I’ve done things close to that, and it usually causes a string of expletives that make my wife shake her head and laugh.
I totally understand, luckily I was the only one home at the time! š
Join the club. I think it happens to all writers sooner or later. The trick is to learn from the mistake. I cross my fingers when I say that, thinking, hoping that I have.
It has been ‘several years,’ since I’ve made a colossal mistake like that. š¦ I would hope never again, but it does happen…
well, not like really… but you know what I mean!
I know, š¦ thanks..
Oh, I’m feeling your pain, sister. It will be interesting to hear if the work you did on the other piece helped you on the correct one. š
I don’t know if it did, but I’ll soon know. Thanks for the comment. Onwards š We have to think positive…
Ahhhhh that’s the worst! I’ve done that before. I don’t suppose you can figure out what you changed and kind of carry it over into the more recent file?
I did that a while back. It wasn’t even mine – I was editing someone else’s work! Eek! It was a Dropbox-sync issue. Some painful cross-cutting got things back in order, but it’s certainly a pain.
