Short and sweet

I’ve had such a busy couple of days…. 

 

We had the house surveyor out yesterday and then I had my skype meeting with E.J eeek, so tired. 

But, the house was valued at a sucky price. At least my session with E.J went well. 

 

Today we met with a mortgage advisor, eeek. Even more scary. We can have four people on the mortgage, but the house deeds then have to go in our name too. So all four of us will be on it, (cost a couple of hundred quid) but for our future it has to be better. 

 

We think we can get a mortgage over 10 year, was hoping for 15. But, nope. Due to mum and Frank’s age, it won’t be possible. It bumps the payments another few hundred quid, but it is risk it now, while we’re all working, or we sell now. And go our separate ways, which will still work our more expensive in the long run. 

 

So much rides on the next few weeks, and our whole financial workings out. So crap, but so brilliant too. 

 

I’m stressed to the hilt in a good way. I wish something else could pay out… but we can only dream about that… soon I am sure. Very, soon….

Weekend :)

Sat night… 

 

It was a wonderful night out with our friends. There were 9 of us, and the restaurant we ate at was nice. Paul was a little disappointed with his choice, but mine was nice, fish lasagne  Totally fishy and different. 🙂 

We went back to their place for a couple of drinks. (Although I was driving) and it was just very pleasant.

Carried on with a little bit of editing. Seems there isn’t enough time in the day at all to get on with this at the moment. Although I am really enjoying it. 

 

We went Wrexham to pick up a trailer that we won from Ebay. It was a quick trip and pretty easy to find, although we got lost off a few roundabouts. 

We did see an accident though, some guy took a bend from a 60 zone into a 30, and spun out. I knew he was going to fast, there was no way he would make the bend at the speed he overtook us at. 

Eventful day but we stopped to have our dinner on the way back. Much better food than sat, weird huh. Think we’ll get Paul’s friend to come up this way instead next time. 🙂 

Work today was hard. Think I’m coming down with a cold or something, bones are aching. Which isn’t nice while driving around. I’m editing tonight, so this is only just a quick catch up.

Sat is cleaning day :)

I’ve spent most of the day, cleaning, tidying up and routing out all the stuff I need for Wed. All set 🙂 

Now, I am pretty tired so I think it is time for a kip as we’re off out tonight for a friends birthday dinner. Something nice for us to do as a couple for a change. 

 

Tomorrow, I am going to do nothing but read and edit. I have a few crits that I owe out.. this might take me a while 🙂 

 

Busy, busy, but I won’t let anything spoil the next few weeks.

Editing session today. Just fab! :)

Hey there, 

As I said in my last blog, There is never enough time in the day. Today has been one of those days. 🙂 eek. Dealing with one thing after another but in an exciting way. And I am so tired, with all the bad weather last night, I never got a wink of sleep.

Then I was worrying over today’s session with E.J… wondering if the edits I’d worked on since last week were what she was hoping for, etc etc. it made me even more tired. lol but I need not have worried. 

I’ve had my third session of five. And I have to admit I don’t want them to end. :Something for E.J and myself to work out there… 

E.J has done exactly what I wanted, and have been searching for, for over 18mths. I wanted, someone to help and teach me more about story telling and the English language. Not just editing, as in… punctuation, grammar. But more about the craft. I know that my writing  needs final editing and proofing, after all what writers doesn’t. But, I wanted to get my readers more engaged in my story, and as a script writer it wasn’t quite happening. In swoops E.J to save the day. 

For me, E.J’s process started with the first session. Probably the hardest for us both, getting to know and work with each other, but for me it wasn’t as hard as I thought. We got right on with the job and worked through 3 pages. The second session came and another 3 pages. Each time with me trying to put into the file, what I’ve learned.

Today’s session was much quicker and easier I found, (finally something is sinking in)  although we ran over a tid bit, we managed to get through 9 pages. Awesome. To me that shows I am learning. Of course, dialogue moves things a bit faster, but hey ho.

I actually am learning, and I am so happy, that as things were being moved around I felt comfortable to add lib and speak my mind. (takes a lot for me to feel comfortable actually talking to anyone)… because of my past and self confidence issues. I know I really have come such a long way in the last four years. 

E.J is extremely nice to talk to and very easy to work with. I would highly recommended her for any writer, at any stage in their writing process.

I  even think seasoned writers could learn something from her. 

Anything that makes you a better writer has to be a bonus. It isn’t just about choosing your words , it is about what is best for your story. 

I’ve learned in these three session how to differentiate between ‘script-writing’ and ‘story-telling’ something which even though I’ve had a couple stories e-pubbed, that I’ve still struggled with. 

I know I can write good scripts.  That has taken me a while to get to grips with.

I want to write great stories to help forward my scripts. Especially the TV series my friend and I have worked so hard on. 

I will get there. I know it.

If you want to be a professional and make a career out of it. Then what price is a small investment? Got to be much better for you than ‘self pubbing’ something that just isn’t ready…

Never enough time in the day :(

It is great working on so many good projects. I love it. 

Filming on Best Friends Ep 5 will start soon. Can’t wait!!!

I recently also asked a very talented artist to join the ‘small crew’ for TSK, and I am excited that it is moving on a whole new level. 🙂 

There is just not enough time in the day though. So much is taken with all the mundane necessities of life. I wish there just was more. lol. 

Had a good day in work, although the weather is wild. All fish are happy, 🙂 cleaned and filled both ponds and they all came begging for food. Roll on summer so I can feed them as much as their greedy eyes are asking for. 

Plus, in summer I get time off and we’re going to some cool koi shows.

I’m tired so this is a short one for now. This next week is going to be extremely busy. Editing session with E.J. tomorrow and a sales meeting in work on Wed, busy then for the rest of the week. eeek no time for anything. 

 

Will just take this one as it comes.
