A quick one…

Hi there,

Only a quick update today. Been a long one as I didn’t sleep much last night.

The weekend was good, caught up on some outside jobs with the ponds. I haven’t touched anything in a week, so I had to get out there and see how everyone was really doing. Nice and sunny so it was amazing to be outside for a change.

Sunday as a little bit of a washout.

But —

— we’re getting a new friend… a Blue Indian Parrot. A friend of ours bought him last year and has since gotten an African Grey, so can’t keep both. I’ve never had a bird before with keeping a cat. It’s a friendly, young bird. So we should be able to get it to talk quite soon. It needs a mirror and lots of time. ๐Ÿ™‚ I can do that, it can sit with me watching me type. lol

Writing.

I’ve had a good few crits through on ‘scribophile’ along with my coaching, so I’ve let my head settle on where I want to move and change things. I finally felt like I was ready to tackle a re-write. It might take me a while. But I am more confident now about it ๐Ÿ™‚

Work.

I went back to work today. A bit tough, it was harder to drive than I first thought. With some pain killers in the morning though I made it just the four hours before I needed more. Eeek. At least my customers were all happy to have me back. ๐Ÿ™‚ I was happy over that.

So, long day, heading to bed. Hope you are all great.

Wed tagging on Thurs :)

Ummm don’t know what happened there… I thought I posted it live. Guess I didn’t. Oops…

Wed….

I sometimes just don’t know where the time goes. This weeks flying by…. eeek.

Problems this morning with my script registrations. So had to sort that out. Funny isn’t it that almost 12 mths ago and they’ve lost my card payment details. Good job Paypal is so organised.

Work, work, work. And it’s been so busy… Can’t wait for next week when we get four days off for Easter ๐Ÿ™‚ Yippie… I’ll get some time to catch up on things before the end of the month.

I’ve done as much editing as I can. Almost to the end of Chap 5 now. ๐Ÿ™‚ It’s really bad when you’ve taken some time off from the piece and only been concentrating on the beginning. When you actually do move forward, you are thrown back into the world you created with a new vision. It’s brilliant. Thank you E.J. Runyon ๐Ÿ™‚

Just been out for a small drink with the other half. Time to relax and a chippy tea… (sod the weight thing… lol.

Thurs

What a storming day I’ve had at work. Settling in now. Need to crack on with Chap 5.

Catch you soon.

Monday :)

So the weekend was mostly spent in bed.ย Recuperating. Although I am still feeling a little full of cold. I do feel much better.

Wish I could take some time off work to really re-charge. But seems that they’re so snowed under they can’t. And they’ve still not advertised for the new position promised. That would help out their work/holiday load for sure. You can’t have 14 people working for you and only one person available to cover. The sums just don’t add up. When we all get 3 weeks holiday. And no one really wants to take them in the dead of winter now do they so out of the 52 weeks. Most really want there hols in the summer…

Oh well.

In other news. Treated the Koi again yesterday. Was a bit hairy towards the end. They started to sulk around the surface so I neutralized it this time and changed some water.

Couple of lunkers. The chemical reaction from the HP is quite strong. And they don’t like this as much as being treated with the PP.

Poor fish.

Will have to leave them for a week or so and see how they’re doing.

Writing wise. Finally got back into it yesterday. It is good to take some time off but hard to get back into the zone.

I am raring to get going some more though. Easter hols soon. This year it comes early at the end of the month. So looking forward to it. I’m physically and mentally exhausted. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ and I know that is why I get sick easily. Plus the ED never helped lower immune system.

Fingers crossed that this month starts to pick up. Mortgage adviser should get back to us with some info. And I’m hopeful for our future.

Fingers crossed for me everyone.

Nominated for the Libester award :)

Hi everyone.

I was nominated for this award on the 12th of Feb I just have been so snowed under and hadn’t the brain to compute an answer and post this back. But here it is ๐Ÿ™‚

The Liebster Award is no exception!

Thanks to Catherine at ย ย http://nowrittenwords.wordpress.com/ย ย for the nomination. I really was so pleased.

The rules for the Liebster are to thank the person who nominated you, answer the 11 question they have asked you, nominate 11 other people and ask them 11 questions in return. According to the guidelines the Liebster award should be sent to bloggers with less than 200 followers so that new bloggers can see how awesome they are!

These are my questions and answers.

So, now for 11 questions for any nominees:

1. Whatโ€™s your most significant childhood memory?

This is a tough one for me. As there are so many…

However, one of the strongest memories I have is not a good one. It was the day I first contemplated suicide at the age of 15. I’d been baby sitting for a local family. Where the ‘ladies’ going out frantically weighed themselves. A weekly ritual. I just remember one of them saying ‘they’d lost weight’ and how excited they were.

I looked down at my stubby fat fingers. And decided when they had gone out to weigh myself. I did.

As the scale spun around. Almost to the end. Something inside me flipped. I knew I was big but I hadn’t thought I was that big.

That night I cried and cried and cried. When I got home. I took a knife to my wrist.

I did not however want to die, nor did I hurt myself badly.

The next morning I went to my mum and asked to go to see the doctor. There started a two year journey which led to severe weight loss. (under supervision) then not under supervision. And eventually led to anorexia. I lost over 140lbs. Half my body weight.

The rest is history but you did ask. ๐Ÿ™‚ I never said it would be short and sweet.

2. What is the one thing you want to do most before you die?

I want to see my TV series on the Sy Fy channel. One day…. soon I hope.

3. Do you have a favourite magazine?

I love reading anything about Koi. But my fav mag went into administration last year. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

4. What do you think is the best thing about having children?

Is there one? (don’t have any kids nor a desire to bring them into a world that is heading downhill fast)

5. Whatโ€™s the worst thing about having children?

You can’t give them back to their real parents as they are yours…

6. What do you do in order to relax?

I sit with my koi. Outside in the garden by their pond.

7. Is there someone you really hate โ€“ and why?

Hate is a very harsh word. But, yes, there is someone I hate. ED (Eating Disorder) hate him with a vengeance.

8. If you could live anywhere else, where would this be?

Just anywhere with the man that I love. Paul.

9. Is there a particular job that you wish you could excel at?

I wish my concentration levels were stronger. Not really a job.

10. Are you a cat or dog person?

Cat.

11. How would you define love?

That fluttering in your heart when you see the person you care for the most. Morning, noon, or night, it feels like home.

And finally, my nominees are:

And my 11 questions for them

1. There is always something that has really hurt you. I’ve shared one of my worst moments above. Can you share one of yours?

2. Share one of your greatest too.

3. Has someone influenced your life in a way you’ll never forget. Someone who isn’t family?

4. Where was your favourite home?

5. Do you prefer a specific genre in writing or watching films?

6. Have you ever had a koi pond?

8. Are you eco friendly?

9. Do you actively save for retirement?

10. Have you ever lived with anyone other than family?

Again sorry to Catherine that it took me so long to get too. I am in vast need of a holiday me thinks. Exhausted is not the word for me at the moment.

Happy blogging all.
