Our books are not free!

The biggest event on facebook, I’ve seen in a while! and it starts soon!

https://www.facebook.com/events/206705409792190/

Sorry facebook for the double tap. Well worth it I think. 🙂

I’ve had the best time since we launched TSK’s second book in December, with a really well laid out plan of attack and some well-placed blogs and adds, we’re doing okay, sales and KU reads are really steady! and I’m proud of that.

But in the launch I did what most authors do, I had giveaway prizes. I love and will always love doing things for others if they REALLY want them, but I gave away between 2 events over 16 audiobooks, out of those prize winners only 6 actually have claimed their books.

These books cost a tonne of money to produce, and each gift costs around $20 or £20 (we’re almost even in cash value)

So I gave away £200 worth of goods, that no one really wanted.

So when a facebook friend decided enough was enough and she shared her idea on this event, I fully supported her, and I’m very proud of the gathering that is involved with this event.

Writing is not easy, it’s fun… sure.

It can be highly stressful too.

It is expensive.

To compete in the real world we have to pay out for many things.

Editing,

Cover art…

Proofing.

Marketing.

Our time is worth something.

Yet, all the time, artists and not just in the writing world are berated and asked for stuff for free.

My other qualm was before my book launch in December I took part in a big event for a $100 amazon gift card. We gathered email addresses for our mailing lists, which was fab.

However in January and up to date, because I gave my email address in, I’ve had over 350 emails, with authors GIVING books away for free 😦

I am very saddened by this, and it has to stop.

We are worth it!

Our time is worth it. You as a reader want hour after hour of entertainment, right?

But you won’t pay more than 2.99 ?

What’s that coffee cost you there, that you’re drinking? how much is that barista on per hour?

Yeah, you get my point, right?

I love my readers, and I love my fans, the comments and notes I get all over social media make my day, but I have to eat, I have to put a roof over my head.

Hugs to you all, and I really, really hope you guys will support this fab event.

I’ve got spending money tonight! So I’m going to buy some amazing books from some of these fabulous authors!

I AM BACK!

OMG guys, I’ve never been so frustrated or upset as I have been the last few weeks, losing sleep and worrying over my account…

I was logged out after a power failure at home. I’d recently had some major phone issues and hubby had also upgraded his phone, so that meant no 2-step authentification. Which my blog is set up for. And I have been locked out!

I have really just been going nuts…

I sent an email off to wordpress, and heard nothing. Presuming it went to spam I checked everything everyday for two weeks…. nothing. I had to email them from another account… and then finally got to talk to someone.

Over the course of the last week. We’ve been back and forth over the account, and I believe someone has reset it from 2-step…. or I’ve been hacked.

NEVER MIND… the fact is I’m back!

I’ve so so much to get you guys clued up on, reviews, and of course TSK’s progress. More will be coming tomorrow 🙂

Love and hugs…

Stressful Week! but it is over!

It’s really just been one of those weeks, where everything that can go wrong, will go wrong.

Work’s been up the wall with this new computing system, but there’s light at the end of the tunnel with it, and it’s looking like a very good system. It’s just been so so tough getting here.

The other half’s been on 4 early shifts, and that always makes me more tired and irritable and nothing seemed to be going right from Monday, I pranged my work van as well, the weather here has been nice for a change and that meant sun… which one min there it was, and I could see to reverse and the next it had gone. I was reversing up a hill and before I could brake I hit a wall. Uggh, not only broke the lights, I obliterated them 😦 Oh dear…

The biggest issue has been with the bank. I noticed on Wed that a 99p payment wouldn’t go through for amazon, and on thursday my google account had been stopped. So we called in and the Fraud team had stopped everything, I had sorted it out last night, but this morning nope, no access to any of our accounts. Sigh, so more messing about from 4.30 am in the morning when I should have been in work cleaning my van.

Driving around, I could hear some weird noise, yep, brake pads gone… so had to also sort that out today. Why….

Thank Crunchie it’s Friday, and I’m done!

Time to chill out and then I can actually do some work and catch up with things tomorrow!

Weekend :(

Yeah, this weekend sucked just as much as the whole of last week did and the ones before it… all of them.

In fact all of 2013 altogether sucks.

I got up at 7am yesterday worked through all the paperwork ready for this ‘4 hour phone call’ from the bank.

I sat and waited.

And waited.

It never came.

I ended up ringing the bank up to try and track who was supposed to ring me. Seeing as our branch was closed I spoke to a gentleman on the phone and he couldn’t work out anything either. So I ran down to our bank and it was indeed closed.

All the time, I’m getting more and more frustrated with them.

Get’s back home and I rang the southport branch. I spoke to a lovely lady who tried her utmost to help me out. She got in touch with the mortgage advise team who couldn’t find this ‘supposed appointment’ and then when we started to go through the paperwork they wanted to deal with my mum and only my mum.

The whole idea behind going into the bank to start the ball rolling was so that the person who rang me would speak to me. As my mum had just finished 4 12 hour shifts and couldn’t foucs to talk to anyone.

So, I’m even more frustrated then, because the guy on the phone then can’t deal with the application as all the other opperatives and appointments were taken for the day. We would have to make another appointment where mum could deal with it all. And it wouldn’t be for another two weeks.

Now I’m getting beyond frustrated I am very angry now. And I tell him this isn’t on. We’ll have waited a whole month to start this. No way. So I basically said we’d talk about it and decide later. I said good bye.

The lovely lady from Southport rang me back in the afternoon to ask how it had gone. 🙂 I told her how dissapointed I was with the whole company and she promised she would try and get me an appointment to speak with their branch mortgage advisor this week. We’ll see she is going to ring me back tomorrow.

——————————-

In other news, the baby koi are coming around really well. But the big fish didn’t look so hot so in feeding them today. My best fish wouldn’t eat. Defo not like her.

Microscope out. Couldn’t get a scrape from the top of the fish, in turning it over noticed some raised scales and took a scrape from there.

Costia….

Again…..

Trying my best now to get the pond temp up so that I can treat them with meds. Not going to happen till Tues I don’t think.  Then might have to hit them again over the weekend. We’ll see how they deal with the pp this time around I know the sorogori didn’t like it so might have to isolate her and treat the others.

Will also have to keep an eye on the sanke and his raised scales. PP and then couple of salt baths will help there I think. There was no major redness but they were defo sticking out a bit. It will only get worse if left alone. And don’t want that.

I have been beaten down so much this last few weeks. I’m going to crack.

I have heartburn and acid indigestion all the time. I’m stressed to the hilt and it’s taking it’s toll on everything.

I told Paul last week that I was going to see the doctor about it. I am going to have to see the doctor about this overwhelming spit of depression that has lasted for 6 mths or more and isn’t lifting either.  I am going to request going back on anti-depressants for the time being.

I already asked in work could I possibly take a little time off to deal with the mortgage issue and appointments. Mum is off work Thurs and Fri so I am going to aim to get as much in then as possible. Including the docs.

This is a really testing time for me. I’ve not allowed myself too much time to process everything. And I’m on the brink of it really turning nasty.

I don’t want it too…

So, I’m making the steps so tackle it. Before it goes all pear shaped.

I won’t be beaten and I’ll bounce back. But I think I need a little help at the moment. I’m not afraid to ask, so I will.

Trying to edit at the moment is also like hitting my head against a brick wall. I know I am feeling bad when I lose the will to write or edit something that I love.

I was hoping this year was going to be a good one. It certainly hasn’t started off so great. sigh….

Catch you soon.

Gutted!

After a wonderful weekend spent editing. I can to open my file today and realised in horror… I’ve been editing the wrong one 😦

I have had a much earlier file open and I’ve left it open, day in, day out.

‘cries’

I can only hope that I haven’t strayed from my goal ‘the first three chapters’ and that its easily fixed. Or, I might have to just start all over again.

I am more than gutted.

Tip to all writers. Make sure you’re in the correct file….

😦
